Right off the bat I need to say that while THE MAN just turned 50, I personally am no where near that milestone myself! :)
His big day was another event to remember. The girls and I baked him a huge cake, blew up balloons, drew a giant picture and celebrated like nobody's business.
As I've said before, the girls love to throw a good party and I think you can tell by the picture that their daddy thought it was a huge success.
Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!

The 2010 Dance Recital is coming!
So the girls are in their second year of dance and seem to really love it. I know The Man and I enjoy watching them during class each week...
Little Miss pays attention and is all about perfection and smiles. And then there's Miss Independent who marches (make that, DANCES) to the beat of her own drummer. I'll be surprised if she remembers the steps to the routine!

This year's recital will be here in less than a month, but since yesterday was picture day, I thought you'd enjoy a sneak peek of the costumes and overall sea of pink cuteness.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I think I might be lost without LOST
WOW.
I haven't cried like that during a TV show in a while.
The show (IMHO) was excellent.
The music was beyond powerful.
YES, I still have questions.
YES, I know they'll never be answered.
YES, I'm okay with that. (Sort of, anyway.)
Below are some clips from my very favorite parts.
Here's to a wonderful show that I'll miss almost as much as Alias.
Namaste!

I'll never be LOST again
Despite all that's been said and written about it, it's still a show I'm going to miss.
Here's looking forward to the LOST series finale on Sunday...

Happy Mother's Day - We found a house!
It's Mother's Day and since we've been off house hunting this weekend there's no big fanfare to celebrate. I guess that's okay considering the fact that after weeks of searching, we finally found a place to call home in Richmond!
I'm excited about what we (finally!) found and hope that the move will start coming together now.
It's been tough trying to explain to the girls why we keep traveling out of town each weekend; dragging them through houses, begging them to be on their best behavior, etc. etc.
But, I guess that's just life and as a mom, having to explain tough things comes with the territory.
I'm grateful to be the mother of two beautiful daughters. There was a time when I never thought I'd have the opportunity to become a mom. I prayed like crazy, but the years kept going by. Thankfully, after much waiting and anticipation, Miss Independent and Little Miss arrived. It was the most amazing day of my life.
In honor of that special day, I'm re-posting my favorite "new mom" picture. It was my first day home from the hospital and a time that went by way too quickly.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you. Whether you've had children of your own or not, Mother's Day is for all of the women who've loved, longed for or cared for a child.
AND finally, Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and to my second mom, Mom Beverly. I love you both dearly and appreciate all that you've done for me and for my family.

I love Nie Nie
I've never met Stephanie Nielson, but I love her. I love her spirit and her spunk. I love her creativity and her willingness to share her life with us. What a wonderful woman she is.
Check out this great video about her new life. The life she has made since the plane crash that almost claimed her life in August 2008.
